Office Chair - 1:6 scale
Chair prop made as part of a short film production for Scale Model Studios
Based on basic office chair designs, scaled to 1:6, but also adjusted to fit specific production puppet
Made from XPS foam, cushion foam, balsa, fabric, wire and sculpted epoxy
I used sections of a pipette to add form to the spindle of the chair
Used epoxy for creating the smooth transition from spindle to base
wheels cut from wood doweling
Used XPS foam for the base of the seat and back, cushion foam over top
Shaped foam with scissors to a more realistic ergonomic form
covered in fabric
Internal structure of chair spine
Covered in epoxy and indents were cut out
Final components, hardware sculpted with epoxy
